Sam is a Clinical Scientist in the field of Gastrointestinal Physiology. After completing a BSc in Human Biology at Loughborough University, he was accepted onto the NHS Scientist training programme for the specialism of Gastrointestinal physiology and Urodynamic Scientist. He completed his training at the University Hospital of South Manchester whilst completing a Master’s Degree at Newcastle University in which he achieved distinction.
During his time at UHSM Sam became involved in setting up and co-ordinating several research projects and clinical trials. His research interests include Irritable bowel syndrome, bloating and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. He is enthusiastic to continue research at the functional gut clinic, hoping our state of the art physiological methods can help improve our understanding of functional gastrointestinal disorders.
