Nicky completed a Master's degree in Human Nutrition at King's College London before achieving a PhD in Nutrition of the Elderly at Liverpool John Moores University. Nicky then successfully gained a PG Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics from London Metropolitan University.
Nicky gained experience in both acute and community settings, providing dietetic support across a range of clinical conditions that affect nutritional status. Nicky has worked with both teams and patients with complex needs and undertaken CPD courses such as use of low FODMAPs diet for IBS and other gut conditions, use of dietary manipulation for obesity and carbohydrate counting for diabetes.
Nicky is passionate about Gastroenterology, Diabetes and Obesity and has gained invaluable insight into conditions where effectiveness of therapy depends on the knowledge and experience of the clinician and clinician-patient rapport.
Nicky is an accomplished presenter on nutrition and her research on n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and cardiovascular risk factors has been published in peer reviewed journals.
